Miles is 3 months old!

Miles, you are 3 months old today! 

You are growing so fast. You like to watch the crazy weenies. 

You have started moving your arms and legs a lot. You kick and swat your arms around. 

We had lots of big changes this month! I went back to work last week. It breaks my heart to leave you, but I know you'll be ok. You also started sleeping in your crib during the night. The first few nights you slept in your crib you woke up to eat between 4-5, but last night you slept through the night again. When your daddy tries to get you to go back to sleep he always says "He's wide awake!" if you don't go back to sleep immediately. 

You are wearing size 2 diapers and you're about 25 inches long. You didn't have to go to the doctor this month, so I'm not sure what you weigh, but I know it is definitely more than last month!

You are still a very chill, relaxed baby. I take you to Target, the mall, and out to dinner and you don't seem to mind at all. 

You met my friend Lori and her family this month. They came all the way from Nashville to see you! Lori is one of my oldest friends. 

You met Nancy and Al this month. They came up from Macon to see you and check out our house. 

We went to the Varsity with Nancy, Al, and Gram. It was your first Varsity trip. I think you were a little sad you couldn't have a hot dog and a peach pie!

Your cousin Mattie sure does love you! Lily had already gone to bed. 

Sweet monkey man. 

Eleanor has only eaten one pacifier this month, but she ate 2 rubber bottle parts. You drink about 4 ounces at a time when you get a bottle.

You met Rachel this month, too. She was in town from California and surprised me! 

You really make us work for a smile, but your smiles are so cute!

You seem to enjoy bath time! You splash water everywhere. You are big enough now to sit in the little tub without the hammock. 

You went to the beach for the first time, too. Lots of firsts this month!

You are getting much more interactive and we love playing with you! We love you sweet Miles!

Miles at the beach!

We took Miles for his first trip to Seaside a couple of weeks ago. We normally go the week of Labor Day when it starts to cool off and the kids are back in school, so it is less crowded. That didn't work out this year because of the timing of my maternity leave. We had it all planned out! We bought Miles his first pair of sunglasses, a bucket hat, and swim clothes. We also bought a tent that we could set up on the beach to get him out of the sun. It turned out we didn't really need all of it because it rained/stormed most of the time while we were there! We went to the pool for short periods and sat under the umbrella during the day and took Miles down to the beach after dinner when it wasn't raining. 

He is a good beach baby! 

He seemed to enjoy checking out the clouds and water. 

We bought his swim trunks a little big, so they came up a little high on his big ol' belly.

Serious Miles. He really makes you work for a smile!

The waves were just too much for him! He went right to sleep. 

We had such a nice, relaxing beach trip and look forward to many more with him!

Family visit

My cousins Kyndall and Abby are home from college right now and came by to visit tonight. Kyndall had to meet Miles before going back to school. Abby has already seen him a couple of times!

Weekend

We had a busy weekend! 

On Friday, Miles and I met Hillary for lunch. First we went to see Hillary's new apartment and Auntie Hannah surprised us when she opened the door! Hannah was excited to see Miles and hold him, but she didn't want anything to do with the diaper changing . In fact, she turned the other direction so she didn't have to look while I changed his diaper. Ha! Then we all went to Newk's for lunch. 

Friday evening Gram came over for her birthday! We had dinner at Yeah Burger and then came back to our house for cake and presents. We even ate at our new table for the first time!

Miles didn't get to eat cake, but he did sit in his fancy high chair for the first time! Thanks Cindy!

Miles got a bath on Friday night and he looked too cute in his duckie towel. He has the cutest cheeks!

Saturday night, Ben and I went out to South City Kitchen for dinner to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We enjoyed having a little time to ourselves, but pretty much talked about Miles the whole time. 

Miles stayed with Grandma and Grandpa while we went out to eat. 

Sunday morning we went out for brunch at Lure. Miles is such a good going out baby! He sat in his seat and stared at me for awhile and then went to sleep. He's a sweet little sleeper!
