Miles is 11 months old!

post signatureMiles, you are 11 months old today! Where has the time gone?! You have turned into a little boy instead of my tiny baby.

You haven't been to the doctor this month, so I don't have any stats, but you are longer and your chubby little legs are starting to thin out a bit.

You are quite difficult to take a picture of because you are WILD. You flip and roll and push yourself all over the place and it makes you very angry if we try to get you to stay still for things like diaper changes.

This has been a busy month! You went to the beach for the second time, celebrated your first Easter, and started standing and taking steps using the walker on your own. We also had a change in your daytime nanny this month, so you've had a parade of different people watching you, but you've been a little trooper! Your cousin Abby is going to keep you this summer and I think we are all ready for some consistency.

See? Wild and crazy little man.

No more sweet little boy that just sits in the chair with the monkey.

You now have 6 teeth; 2 on the bottom and 4 on the top. Actually, your 4th top tooth is coming in right now. Hopefully you'll get a break for a couple weeks before more start coming in.

You are on a really good schedule now. You have milk feedings at 7, 11, 3, and 7 and you eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You still really like to drink water and get really excited when we give it to you after you eat. You drink water and your milk feedings when I'm not here out of a straw cup. You completely stopped taking a bottle at 9 months and haven't looked back! Your favorite foods right now are deli turkey, cheese, strawberries, and blueberries.

You love to be outside. You like to rip up pieces of grass and just look around outside. When we take you out for a walk, you just hang out in your stroller. I think thats when you are the most calm other than when you are asleep.

You are such a little boy! You like to bang things together, beat things on the wall, scream just for fun, and generally make a lot of noise.

But, you are also so cute and sweet! You have a precious little smile.

We are working on planning your first birthday and are so excited about it!

It is almost impossible to dress you because you don't have time for things like diaper changes or putting clothes on anymore.

Making a mess and pulling books off the shelf in your room are some of your favorite activities.

I can't believe how big you are now! You look like such a little boy in this picture.

You hold your own drink now and like drinking from a straw. When we were taking your pictures last weekend, I was holding you in one arm and my starbucks frappuccino in the other hand and you grabbed the straw and started drinking my drink!

You love the swing at the park in our neighborhood.

I took this picture of you looking out the window and I think it is so sweet.

I came in to get you up from your nap yesterday and this is how I found you. You were so proud of yourself! We moved the mattress down all the way last night.

You are such a cutie pie! It's a little bittersweet that you are 11 months old already, but I am so thankful for a healthy, growing boy.

Baby Dedication

post signatureI am way behind on blog posts for Miles, so I'm going to try to catch up this week. A certain little dude is now mobile and keeps us busy!

Miles had baby dedication at church on March 1, 2014. We don't do baptism this little because we believe that baptism is a public showing of a personal decision that Miles will need to make on his own when he gets a little older. Baby dedication is really more for us as parents to dedicate ourselves to raising Miles to follow Jesus.

For the dedication, Ben and I had to come up with 5 values that we would commit to instilling in Miles, as well as 2 habits that we will make part of our lives consistently.

Values:
1. Financial responsibility
2. Open and honest communication with others
3. Kindness
4. Patience (because Ben and I aren't the best with this one!)
5. Generosity with time and resources

Habits:
1. Praying everyday with Miles and us praying together as a couple
2. Dedicating alone time without kids every so often

We went to the service at church and came back to our house for lunch afterward. Thanks to everyone who came and spent this special day with us!
