Miles is 5 months old!

Miles, you are 5 months old today!

Your personality is starting to show and you are just like your daddy; mostly quiet and laid back and a little bit grumpy. 

You were giving us a hard time with smiles when taking your picture this month! You weigh 18 pounds now, so your growing has slowed a little bit. You are too big for 3-6 months clothes, but 6-12 month clothes are too big for you still. You wear a lot of footie pajamas in the 9 month size from Carters. We are also doing cloth diapers full time now!

You are teething now, so everything goes straight to your mouth. 

You have mastered rolling over from your back to your stomach, but not from stomach to back. You are much better with tummy time now because you can push yourself up. You want to be sitting up all the time. If we prop you up on pillow or put you in the snugamonkey, you lean your head forward and try to sit up. It won't be long before you sit up on your own!

Most of the time you are Mr. Serious.

You met Buzz for the first time in Atlantic Station. 

Ben got this picture of you and cousin Lily. Lily loves the baby, but you don't look so sure about things!

Miles and Mattie again. You look huge in this picture! Maybe because I had your pants pulled up too high?!

We had to call the after hours line at your dr office last Friday night. You cried for 1.5 hours and we couldn't calm you down, so we thought we were going to have to take you to the ER. A CHOA nurse called us back and after going through a checklist decided it was your teeth causing you some trouble. We gave you some tylenol and put the lullavibe under your mattress and you finally went to sleep. Saturday morning we went straight to New Baby Products and got you an amber teething necklace and a Sophie the giraffe. You were much happier after that!

We got you this hat at Hanna Andersson this weekend. You look so cute I can hardly stand it! Your shirt says beyond cute in this picture and I think it describes you perfectly!

Miles is 4 months old!

Miles, You are 4 months old today!

You are still such a sweet, calm and happy baby! You have sweet little toes and baby thighs. 

You love to look at your parents. Wherever we are, you always have your eye on us. You have really started holding your head up consistently this month, which makes tummy time a little less terrible, although you still hate it after 5 minutes. You also rolled over this month. 

Your hair is turning lighter and getting fuzzy, but you still have brown newborn baby hair bangs that have grown out. I call them toupee bangs!

You smile a lot, especially in the mornings after you wake up.

We are more settled into a routine now. Nanny Peggy comes over in the mornings around 8 and we usually leave for work around 8:15. I don't want to miss more than 2 feedings, so I am home by 3:30 or 4:00 when you wake up from your nap. You get 2 bottles a day on weekdays and you drink about 5 ounces each time. 

While we are on the subject of naps, I should say that you are a great sleeper! You have gotten into a good routine in the last week or so. You wake up around 8, take a morning nap for about an hour, then you take a nap from 1:30-4:00, and then another nap for about 45 minutes or an hour about 5:15. You go to bed about 9:00 and usually sleep through the night.

We made the switch to cloth diapers this month, and so far I love them! The prints are really cute. I'll do another cloth diaper post with more details about that. We are still using up the rest of the disposables we bought, so you are a size 3, although you can still fit in size 2 diapers.

You are a very proportionate boy!

You've started sticking your tongue out a lot. You are wearing ducky pjs that were Mattie's in this picture. 

Nanny Peggy bought you this toy, plus some keys, but this is by far your favorite! You have started grasping things now. You've entered the stage where everything goes straight to your mouth! 

You look too sweet in this picture! These are your weenie dog pirate pjs that we think are hilarious!

We went to dinner tonight at Community Q with Katherine, Mattie, and Lily. I got a picture of you and Mattie, but not Lily again. I need to make sure we get Lily next month! Mattie loves you so much. 

This isn't a great picture, but I had to take a picture. You are wearing a mini Boden outfit that has a dachshund on it that I love! 

You love to talk, too! You babble away all day. 

Miles, you make us so happy! Your daddy and I were talking to you tonight in the car about how life is  better with you here!

MILEStones: He rolled over!

Miles reached a milestone over the weekend. He rolled over yesterday morning while on our bed. He has been working hard at it for a week or two and finally got it! Of course once he got there, he wasn't too happy about it. Here he is working on rolling over on his activity mat.

He also is big enough to ride in the stroller without his carseat! He took his first ride in Home Depot on Saturday morning. 

We took a walk on Sunday morning, too. 

I tried the Bumbo seat with him a month ago, but he didn't look very comfortable in it. Probably because he couldn't hold his head up very well. We tried it again last week and he can sit up in it, but his chunky little thighs kept getting stuck!

Smiley Miles! Love this little man. I bought this taxi outfit while I was pregnant. We were worried he was going to be too big for it by the time it started to cool off, so I jumped at the chance to put it on him when it was slightly cooler on Sunday morning. 

And I just thought this one was cute. He makes you work hard for the smiles!

Miles is 3 months old!

Miles, you are 3 months old today! 

You are growing so fast. You like to watch the crazy weenies. 

You have started moving your arms and legs a lot. You kick and swat your arms around. 

We had lots of big changes this month! I went back to work last week. It breaks my heart to leave you, but I know you'll be ok. You also started sleeping in your crib during the night. The first few nights you slept in your crib you woke up to eat between 4-5, but last night you slept through the night again. When your daddy tries to get you to go back to sleep he always says "He's wide awake!" if you don't go back to sleep immediately. 

You are wearing size 2 diapers and you're about 25 inches long. You didn't have to go to the doctor this month, so I'm not sure what you weigh, but I know it is definitely more than last month!

You are still a very chill, relaxed baby. I take you to Target, the mall, and out to dinner and you don't seem to mind at all. 

You met my friend Lori and her family this month. They came all the way from Nashville to see you! Lori is one of my oldest friends. 

You met Nancy and Al this month. They came up from Macon to see you and check out our house. 

We went to the Varsity with Nancy, Al, and Gram. It was your first Varsity trip. I think you were a little sad you couldn't have a hot dog and a peach pie!

Your cousin Mattie sure does love you! Lily had already gone to bed. 

Sweet monkey man. 

Eleanor has only eaten one pacifier this month, but she ate 2 rubber bottle parts. You drink about 4 ounces at a time when you get a bottle.

You met Rachel this month, too. She was in town from California and surprised me! 

You really make us work for a smile, but your smiles are so cute!

You seem to enjoy bath time! You splash water everywhere. You are big enough now to sit in the little tub without the hammock. 

You went to the beach for the first time, too. Lots of firsts this month!

You are getting much more interactive and we love playing with you! We love you sweet Miles!
