Miles is 2! Plus a few months...

I can't seem to be a good blogger, but I feel like for my own future reference, I need to post Miles' second birthday memories before I forget. We had his party at our house with lots of friends and family! Miles is very into trains right now, so we had a "choo choo Miles is 2!" party, complete with train tracks in driveway, railroad signs, and a conductor hats for all the kids.

It was so. darn. hot outside, but at least it didn't rain!

A few notes about Miles at age 2:
Height: 36.75", 98th percentile
Weight 29 lbs: 50th percentile
Favorite foods: Sweet tea, sweet potatoes, grapes, salmon, nuggets, raisins, Willy's
Favorite things: Playing outside, going to Target, the playground, Crista (our awesome nanny)
Miles still goes to bed by 7-7:30 and sleeps until 7 am. Naps around 1:30 for 1-3 hours.
Funny words that Miles says: Puggex (Publix), drill (drool), couple days (as in see Papa in a couple days)
Favorite books: Pete the Cat, Llama llama Misses Mama, Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site, Pout Pout Fish
Other funny facts: The kid never stops talking. He also rarely stops moving. He hugs and kisses all of his neighbor friends every time he sees them! After we read books and say our prayers, Miles tells me to "rock baby" which means he wants me to rock him like a baby for a minute.

Small bounce house in the driveway and a cardboard train for coloring.

Miles loves his Mawmaw!

Papa dressed up in costume for the party!

Miles loved having everyone sing Happy Birthday to him. He watched the video frequently on my phone and also sings happy birthday to himself now.

Miles with his all his neighbor friends. We love our sweet neighbors!

LOVE this little dude. Sometimes when I tell him "I love you," he says "pieces" because I say I love you to pieces. Miles, you make life so much fun!

Beach! Better late than never...

We went to the beach the week of Labor Day last September, but I never got around to blogging about our trip. We have been busy, and I really need a new computer because my old macbook keeps freezing when I load pictures, so I haven't been great about blogging. Anyway, better late than never, like I said.

Miles LOVED the beach! The kid is not afraid of the water at all.

He had tons of fun splashing in the pool in his float.

He also pooped in his diaper in the toddler pool...twice! Disposable swim diapers don't seem to work so great. Ack.

Sandy booty.

Miles loved sitting on the edge of the water, but sometimes the water knocked him over! He didn't seem to mind, though.

We were hoping he would be walking well by the time we went to the beach, but he wasn't quite there yet.

We took his inflatable pool on the beach every day and he spent lots of time crawling in and out of his pool.

This is what he did every time he saw the water! Reached out for the water and scooted until he got there.

Resting after a long day on the beach.

Our daily beach set-up.

We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Miles is 15 months old!

Miles, you are 15 months old! This is a random assortment of pictures from the last month or so.

I think you were fooling us all those months when you were so calm and content. You are very much the opposite of that these days! See below for proof. You pitch a lot of fits these days. Sometimes for no apparent reason, sometimes if we take something away, generally the iPad.

We go to music class one day a week and you absolutely love it! You love Ms Maire, the teacher. Your friend Eloise is in your class now, too. (Excuse the bad picture! Difficult to take a picture of two busy babies.)

We go eat at West Egg for brunch a lot and you like to play in these chairs out front.

Miles man selfie.

This picture is too funny to me! Makes me laugh every time I see it.

You spend a lot of time feeding the dogs your food. This is the only time Eleanor is not trying to bite you. You have been a rather difficult eater recently. Sometimes you eat, sometimes you don't.

We took you over to Georgia Tech to walk around and see the fountain a few weeks ago. You loved it and you tried to climb in. Of course.

You know no bounds. Sitting your chair is not interesting enough for you. You have to stand up backwards and rock the chair!

You do love a peanut butter spoon!

You had your last bag of frozen breastmilk this month! This was the last bag.

Playing with blocks is lots of fun!

These are some sweet pictures you daddy took of you while I was out one day.

Wild man! You enjoy yelling. Loudly.

We took you to the zoo (this was your third trip to the zoo) and met Katherine and Lily there. Miles and Lily the lions.

Here are some fun facts about you!
  • You are still a busy little boy. You sleep 7am - 7pm, but you aren't a great napper anymore, which is sad. I've tried changing to one nap a day but that seemed to be worse, so we went back to two naps for now.
  • You say mama, dada, uh oh, and up.
  • You also like to feed yourself from a fork or spoon.
  • You harrass the heck out of the weenies. NONSTOP.
  • You nod your head yes and no and can follow simple directions.
  • You push your parade truck walking/riding toy in circles around the house.
  • At your 15 month appointment, you were 25 lbs (75th percentile), 31 inches (50-75th percentile), and 19 inches for head circumference (90th percentile). You have quite a big noggin!
  • You got your third haircut this month.
You are a trip, Miles! We love you lots, little boy.
