Miles' First Birthday: Part 2

I love these pictures of our little family! Just missing Cleo and Eleanor. I think this may have been about the time that Ben and I looked in the front window to see Eleanor chewing on the dining room curtain because she was so stressed out.

Miles' First Birthday Party: Part 1

We had Miles' first birthday party over the weekend and it was so much fun! We had lots of family and friends join us to help us celebrate sweet Miles. Warning! Lots of pictures!

I found a Jenny Lind high chair that needed to be refinished for $10. After some woodwork from Miles grandpa I painted it in Annie Sloan chalk paint and I am so pleased with it! Exactly what I wanted. We also made the sign for his high chair. Ben and Hillary made his party hat, which also turned out well!

Miles tasted his cake one finger-lick at a time! I was hoping he would get a little more messy with it, but he was much more cautious. 

I think this may be one of the sweetest pictures of him ever. So precious!

Miles got lots of great gifts at his party. He has been playing hard since his party with all his new toys.

Miles is 1 year old!

Miles, you are ONE YEAR OLD today! Oh my goodness, where has the time gone?!

I don't have any of your stats because your appointment is not until next week. I'll update then!

Ok, here are the stats! 

Weight: 22 lbs, 6 oz, 75th percentile

Height: 30 3/4 inches, 75th percentile

You are the sweetest, happiest little guy. You are also still a very busy boy! You get into everything. Your favorites include ripping out the air registers, knocking over the dog water bowl, and sticking your hands in the toilet. It makes you really upset if we restrict your movement by putting you in the exersaucer or jumperoo. You like to be on the go! 

You also really like taking things out of containers/baskets, but you've also learned to put things back in the bucket. You are also getting close to walking. You can walk across the room and back with a push toy. 

We are still on the same schedule as last month, but I think things may change a little in the next few weeks after we go to the doctor. You go to bed around 7 and usually wake up between 6:30 and 7:00. You still take 2 naps per day at 9:30 and 1:30. We've had a rough month though because you had a cold and your first ear infections, one in each ear! You had a fever again tonight, so I hope your ear infection isn't back. 

You clap, wave bye-bye, and point now, which are all really cute. You are so proud of yourself when you clap or wave! You also really enjoy banging things together. You refuse to wear a bib when you eat, so I had to find bibs that snap so you couldn't rip them off! You also aren't a very good car rider anymore. I think you don't like being restricted in any way, so you really don't like being in the car for more than a few minutes. 

You like to turn the pages in your books. You like your book called "My Big Farm Book" that you got from Aubry and "The Going to Bed Book." 

We had a little cookie cake for you (well, really more for your parents!) tonight, but we are having a big party on Saturday! Lots of fun. 

You are the sweetest little boy. This has been the best and busiest year of our lives! I love you to pieces, Miles!
